📏 Measuring Guide

Accurate measurements and clear photos will help us craft a silicone prosthetic that fits comfortably and looks natural. The whole process takes about 5–10 minutes. Please use millimeters (mm).

 

✅ What You’ll Need

 

 

  • A soft measuring tape (or string + ruler)

  • Natural daylight near a window (avoid filters/beauty modes)

  • A pen or notes app to record your numbers

 

 

 

 

✋ Finger Measuring Steps

1. Circumference (Required)

 

  • Wrap the tape around the base of your affected finger (at the crease nearest the palm).

  • Record the reading in mm (e.g., 58 mm).

  • If the residual finger is short, add a second circumference about 10 mm from the tip (optional, improves fit).

 


2. Length (Recommended)

 

  • On the opposite healthy hand, measure from the base crease (palm side) to the fingertip. Record in mm as a cosmetic reference.

 


3. Notes (Optional)

 

  • Example: “sweaty hands, prefer 1–2 mm tighter/looser,” “wide nail bed,” “slightly more yellow.”

  1. Back of hand

  2. Palm side

  3. Cross-section of residual finger (close-up)

  4. Circumference photo with readable scale

 

 

 

 

đŸŠ¶ Toe Measuring Steps


1. Circumference (Required)

 

  • Wrap the tape around the base of your affected toe.

  • If the residual is short or tapered, add a second circumference ~10 mm from the tip (optional).

 


2. Length (Recommended)

 

  • On the opposite healthy foot, measure from the toe base crease to the tip.

 


3. In-shoe Space (Optional)

 

  • If you will wear it inside shoes for long periods, share your usual shoe size and shoe type (sneakers, dress shoes, sandals).

 


Photos (4–5 required):

 

  1. Top of foot

  2. Sole side

  3. Cross-section of residual toe (close-up)

  4. Circumference photo with readable scale

  5. (Optional) Standing/weight-bearing photo

⚠ Common Mistakes & Tips

 

 

  • Tape too loose or too tight → aim for snug, not tight

  • Mixing inches and cm → use mm only

  • Yellow/blue lighting → take photos in window daylight

  • Very dry skin → apply light moisturizer to reduce glare

  • Multiple toes lost or very short residuals → a Toe Plate (forefoot) often provides better stability and appearance
